Two very different styles - One design!

Did you ever feel downhearted and say to yourself, "I feel like I just keep doing the same things!" Well I been making things somewhat the same lately but on purpose.  I challenged myself to use the same design for a card at least two times with different styles to show that you don't have to be "design star" in order to feel creative or make stunning cards.

My hostess this week wanted to make vintage Christmas cards. I love the vintage look, especially around the holidays, but I also know that not everyone likes that style.  I am quite proud of myself! I think the two layouts I came up with are so simple and easy to recreate with any collection of stamps and papers.

The cards above were created using:
Petals a Plenty embossing folder
Cherry Cobbler classic ink & 8.5x11 cardstock
Decorative Label Punch
Scallop Trim Punch
Island Floral Bigz Die
Very Vanilla or Whisper White Cardstock
Deck the Halls or Holly Jolly Designer Series paper
Glimmer Brads or Self Adhesive backed rhinestones
Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon

Technique Tuesday -Embossing

Come to TECHNIQUE TUESDAY and make 6 cards using a specialized technique. This week we will be EMBOSSING: Heat Embossing & Emboss Resist.  You'll make 3 of each card: 1 to keep and 2 to give away.

Here are the two types of cards we'll be making. The Christmas card uses the "Delightful Decorations" (#116517) and "Many Merry Messages" (#116586) stamp sets found in the IB&C.  It's is such a warm and inviting card don't you think?  Here is a closeup of the embossed ornament that I punched out with a diamond on top and the Northern Flurry embossing folder in the background (#120902  Holiday Mini).

The second card uses the emboss resist technique and the 'Thoughts & Prayers" stamp set (#113252 IB&C). The closeup shows how the tree stands out softly among the many fall colors.

** If you click on the pictures themselves you will be able to see a much bigger closeup with better detail.

Class fee is $15 and includes all materials. Class fee waved with a $25 purchase.  Come anytime between 6:30 and 9:30 pm but please allow yourself at least 2 hrs to complete your full set.

UPDATE!!!  Only 5 seats available - call or email me ASAP to reserve your seat.

I know I am a little late in telling you this (4 days exactly) but like I said before, I am going to get better at keeping you informed :0) The 2010 Holiday Mini is here and it is a doozy!!!! Isn't the cover beautiful? I want everything in it, and I couldn't say that about the last mini. My husband doesn't want me to say it at all (haha) Good thing I get everything at a discount otherwise I would be BROKE.
If you are on my mailing list you have already seen this mini, but if your not you can click here to see the entire catalog. Please leave a comment below or contact me directly if you would like to be added to my mailing list.  I will make sure you are sent the next mini, which comes out in January.

There are so many awesome goodies in here. To give you just a sampling of what's inside there are: Spooky, Fall and Holiday DSP with stamps to match, glitter, glitter paper, glimmer brads, TINSEL TRIM, new Dies and punches, seam binding ribbon, embossing folders, FABRIC that matches the dsp, and my new favorite toy, Letterpress plates! These are so cool and they make the most classy cards.  You just have to see this stuff in person. So why not have me over to show you everything. I am booking up quickly for fall so please contact me right away at k_allcorn@yahoo.com or 609.929.0321 to book your party. You will want so much stuff so why not get some free and make a girls night in out if it?! You deserve it don't you think?

Tote-ally Amazing Promotion!

Ok I know that title was lame, but this promotion definitely isn't! From now through October 18th (while supplies last) you will receive this AMAZING Greenhouse Gala Tote for FREE (a $39.95 value!!) when you sign up to become a demonstrator.
When I saw this tote for the first time on the SU! demonstrator website before convention I knew I HAD to HAVE it! So, I got in line at Memento Mall at Convention way early so I could make sure they didn't sell out of it. Picture in your mind hundreds of hungry bulls rushing toward a piece of red, juicy meat.  That's what it was like but hundreds of crazy ladies all running toward the tote display! Well this tote hasn't disappointed me yet, I take it to every event and people ooh and ahh over it like it was Tiffany jewelery.

So you can see how cute the tote is but LOOK INSIDE it. See all the cool stuff busting out? That is the Kit! Totally customizable. You will receive everything in this tote or switch it out for stuff you would rather have. You will get to choose five ink pads, ribbon, four stamp sets, a set of blender pens, markers, dimensionals, SNAIL, a sponge, Stampin' Mist, Stampin' Scrub, and ENTIRE package of DSP prints in any color collection of your choice, two packs of card stock, a sponge, and hummmm... oh yeah, a wheel and reinker for it...a clear block....ah, oh and other stuff you don't see in it like a demonstrator only website and a monthly magazine full of ideas that nobody other than demonstrators have access too! Can you believe it- this kit is way better than the one I got! It really is a crafter's dream. Ahhh, makes me want to sign off this post and go look at my tote again (I'm not insane I'm just passionate about my stuff!)

Ok so if you do the math, the products are worth $310 but you only pay $175!  When you throw in the adorable bag, you're getting $350 in products for $175 - THAT'S HALF PRICE!

Contact me snazzystamper@yahoo.com or 609-929-0321 for more information on getting your starter kit and FREE Greenhouse Gala Tote!

New School Year Resolutions

Ok so it's not exactly New Year's Day but for teachers everywhere the new year of school has either come or looming closely around the corner. (For me it will come next Tuesday....dun dun duuuunnnnnn). I am a teacher by day and a stamper by night. So like each approaching new year I have thought about this past school year and how I can improve my craft.

HOWEVER, today I was thinking on how I can improve my "craft" as a demonstrator. One area that I have been EXTREMELY lacking in is blogging and keeping you updated. I apologize. I can give you a list of excuses, but who really wants to hear them? So as my new resolution for this school year as a demonstrator, and this works because demonstrators are teachers too, I vow to be more diligent in my blogging.  I will post more pictures, company updates, news and specials, and even try my hand at some tutorials, too.

I have taken tons of pictures from projects I have done lately and will be posting them over the weekend. Thank you for sticking with me through my absence and stay tunes (for real) for some neat stuff!

Happy stamping!

Kristin
