I thought today I would share with you my Stampin' Story. For everything there is a reason, so I thought I would share with you my reason for becoming a demonstrator with Stampin' Up.
I absolutely enjoy being a Stampin’ Up! independent demonstrator, and I am one of those rare people who love what they do and get to share what they love. Oh, and enjoy all the snazzy benefits that come along with it too (cheap or FREE paper crafting products, unlimited ideas, getting paid to play, etc.) Which is exactly why I signed up: The Discount Baby!
I married my high school sweetheart, Matt, in 2003 and 5 years later had our daughter, Emma, in 2008. So needless to say, I was very behind in my scrapbooking, by 5 years. I had a lot of catching up to do and didn't know where to start. So I found a random Stampin' Up consultant online and contacted her. I went to one of her events and booked a workshop because I wanted to get some free stuff (I love FREE stuff, but who doesn't right?)
I was in direct sales before for a popular kitchen gadget company that's not just for "chefs"..... (did you get it? hee hee) and was totally NOT interested in doing it again any time soon. But I fell in love with the products, loved the discounts, and I couldn't get over how little she brought with her to do her workshop! I was sold!!!!!!!
My original intention was to just be a "hobbiest" and purchase all my scrapping stuff from SU and sell to my friends and family, but I'm a teacher and thought this would be great income during the summer. So here I am, totally awestruck by how awesome this company is, and also how much I have been blessed (not just monetarily, but more so by the people I've met).
So this is my story. I hope it gave you a little insight into my world. Do you have a Stampin' Story you would like to share? I would love to know why you love Stampin' Up! (prodcuts, people, ideas, etc.) and how it has blessed your life! Leave your comment below!!

SaleABrate Cyber Monday!
Wow! What a day I had yesterday. Thank you to all of you who came out and showed your support. I really felt the love and it was my best open house ever! At one point in the afternoon I had a full table with overflow! Even the non-stampers left inspired and happy (well, that's because I am making their cards FOR them!) Even still everyone had a great time.
I thought I would post pics of some of the samples I had on display for those who wanted to come but couldn't make it out today. I had a few My Digital Studio cards out ranging from Christmas to Baby Announcements, (Hint Hint to all of my friends having babies or getting married!) a photo album, and an 8.5x11 print that I printed at home for a Father's Day gift for Matt from Emma. I love that I can print professional looking pages at home in my slippers! I also had a HUGE display board filled with card swaps from Convention 2010 & Leadership 2011. I'm sure glad these ladies brought their cameras because they we having a good time taking pictures of all the gorgeous swaps. I love to see scrapbookers turn card makers right in front of my eyes!
Everyone loved the Make & Takes, which of course makes me very happy because I still think of myself as a "novice" stamper. Today was quite the confidence builder :0) Anyways, here are some pictures from today. To see the pictures larger, just click on the images and it will open up in a new window.

Leadership Day 1
Ok so I am one of the fortunate ones to not only be able to register for the Stampin' Up Leadership Conference in Nashville, TN, but by the grace of God, MAKE IT here! We were so fortunate to miss the brunt of the latest snow storm and make it out of the Philly airport on time and with no trouble whatsoever. Some of you know I am not in the least bit a morning person, but I was up at 5:45 AM, and on time to my uplines house, and we were to the airport at 8 AM. Our flight arrived and left ontime (extremely odd for Philly, but I'm not complaining) I did, however, get the TSA XRAY vision screening & "invade your personal space" pat down. It was no big deal and then the woman patted my arms and my wrists! WEIRD!
We are staying at the most beautiful resort ever! The Gaylord Opryland Resort WOWZERS this place is amazing. It has a sprawling 9 acres indoor Atrium garden with numerous waterfalls, and a riverboat that winds around the atrium floor. I ginormous Christmas tree, and festive Christmas decorations still up. I thought I would wander around tonight in my free time since Kristin and Claire both went to Manager's Reception (I didn't qualify, this year..... Next year I will!) Yeah, I got lost many times. I have never in my life stayed anywhere so huge.
I found myself at this lovely Italian restaurant, by my lonesome, and a friendly fellow demo asked me what looked good. Well, we soon made friends and I was happy not to have to dine on fabulous Italian Carbobara Papardelle alone. Thanks for keeping me company Barb!
Next on the agenda was to navigate myself to my first class called, "Manager's Reception: Be There Next Year". Let's hope the good notes I took pay off! Look out downline - there's going to be a whole lot of inspiration and motivation coming your way soon.
Anyhoo, I made a BEAUTIFUL swap card using the "Valentine Defined" stamp set which is a new set in the Occasions Mini. I really have fallen in love with this set! This is not the best picture. I had to use my phone since I don't have a camera. I know GASP!!!! What are you gonna do? You make do! I will take a better picture when I get home. Or maybe my nice upline will take one for me tomorrow to replace this one..... hummmmmmm
Here is a list of supplies I used:
Basic Gray, Cherry Cobbler, and Whisper White 8.5X11 cardstock
Cherry Cobbler (for the definition stamp) and Basic Grey classic ink (for the flowers)
Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon
Elegant Lines Embossing Folder
This is a card we will be making in my January workshops, so if you love this card as much as I do, I would love to show you how easy it was to make!
Ok, off to bed now. It's 11:10 PM here, but 12:10 AM on the East coast.
